Needed: prayer partners!!

New Destiny Community Church is in motion and going forward. Recently we were approved for a BGMC Grant of a $1000 credit with GPH (Gospel Publishing House) for Church Planters. Thank you Jesus!! -- and thank you to all the Children and Children's Ministries that give to BGMC.

We have recently applied for a Speed the Light Grant. Speed the Light is a youth missions program that provides money for sound equipment, projectors, vehicles and computers for missionaries (both home-based and international.) This grant, worth up to $3500, would be an amazing blessing for New Destiny!

We at New Destiny Community Church know God is our supplier. He has all the connections, all the money -- everything we need.

Please pass the word to others about New Destiny. We still need many more workers: those that would come along with us in leadership and those who would help us "launch".

**We need prayer partners!! New Destiny needs to succeed because it is God led and God directed. This will only happen by and because of prayer. Please join us in praying for Denver NC and New Destiny. If you will commit to regularly praying for us, please post a comment or send me an email. Right now, in our beginning stages, please pray for God to raise up a team of believers who desire to work with us to reach Denver, NC. Please pray for God's favor in meeting with the communities in Denver, NC. Please pray for finances. And, please pray that in all this, God will be glorified and He will be lifted up. This is His work!!

Blessings,

Why New Destiny?

My wife Melissa and I are excited and full of expectation for all that God has for New Destiny Community Church. Church planting is a journey of a lifetime, full of anticipation and faith. It is believing before seeing everything in place.

Why New Destiny? Because there are so many people that have wandered from the truth or who have been hurt by the church. We all need something real. We all need a church of authentic people with a desire to love each other with the love of Christ. We all need a God that is big enough to give us a New Destiny for our lives. A God that is big enough to soften hearts that were hardened.

Why New Destiny? Because people need a church that is relevant, relational and radical.

Why New Destiny? Because Denver/Lake Norman NC has been growing and every indication is it will continue to grow. It is a mission field.

Why New Destiny? Because the call of God is so real in my life and in Melissa's life. We have an urgency to reach people with God's mercy, love and grace.

Isa 43:18 says, see I am doing a New Thing!!

Melissa and I believe that there is one incredible message that never changes. The gospel of Jesus and the Power of the Cross is as real today as it has ever been. We are thankful for His salvation and His Call! But we also believe that there is not just one method to reach others with the Gospel. Our desire is to rethink how we do church to how does God want church to be done at New Destiny? God has placed in our hearts to serve the community of West Lake Norman and love God. . . love people.

Why New Destiny? Because so many need to know Jesus!

Love,

Dear Friends of New Destiny

Dear friends of New Destiny:

It is with great expectation that I announce to you the launch of New Destiny – a new church in Denver, NC. The anticipated launch date is September 2009.

Lincoln County has a population of 71,894 (2006 estimate). The west Lake Norman area of Lincoln County- East Lincoln County- has a population of 33,000 with Denver having at least 10,000. An estimate of 29,085 people in Lincoln County are unclaimed for the gospel. Only 19,497 are evangelical Christian adherents. Many in the west Lake Norman area commute to Charlotte, Gastonia or Hickory. This area has shown tremendous growth and is expected to continue to grow. Recently I-485 has opened to route 16 and construction on 16 is expected to continue from Charlotte to I- 40. This will allow easier and quicker access to Charlotte from Lincoln County.
This is an American Mission Field
Melissa and I were married in September 2006. We made our home in Huntersville where Melissa had been living. We have spent much time in prayer, seeking Godly counsel and research in pursuing ministry opportunities. We have looked at moving and have looked at area churches for ministry opportunities. But we kept seeing in our area of Lake Norman/ Northwest Charlotte Metro that there was a lacking of Evangelical, Pentecostal Churches – especially Assemblies of God. We realized the call of God is right where we are. We realized that the need is in our community and God is raising us up to the challenge of planting a church. After approaching the NC District, we were advised the greatest need is Denver, NC. Our target area is the intersection of routes 73 and16. We live 7 miles / 11 minutes from this side of Denver, NC.
A Different Kind of Church
I believe we need a different kind of church. We want to create a church that will be very specific in its focus and target. We hope to be a church that will place its emphasis on communicating God’s unchanging truths to a changing culture. We desire to allow God to build His church and we will work for Him.

Why are there so many different churches? Because there are so many different types of people. One type or style of church will not reach everyone. It is our hope to build a church like no other so that another group of people can be reached with the awesome love of Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your prayers and consideration in partnering with New Destiny!

Sincerely,

Michael A. Teeter
